Warrior Tanking Macros for Patch 3.3

The warrior is probably the hardest class I've had to make a threat macro for out of all the tank classes. There are two random type abilities you want to keep up and that makes this macro not as efficient as a manual tank macro. Nonetheless, I've used the single target macro and generated over 5k threat per second consistently at 4k gearscore. How well it will scale into Icecrown Riaiding remains to be seen yet as some of the better geared DPS are putting out over 10k threat per second. I'm still working my Warrior tank up to 5000 gearscore and will let you know how it works at the high end levels. I don't see any reason it won't be able to hold threat though on any raid.

These macros are broken into two parts, one is for AoE Tanking the other is for Single Target tanking. You will still have to weave in your cooldowns and special abilities as these are only setup for threat generation.

Single Target Warrior Tanking

Usually revenge is up every few seconds and ready to be pressed, if it's not, then there will be some inefficiences in this macro but it should still work fairly well. I've added Heroic Strikes into the castsequence in a few spots for when castrandom gets stuck on Revenge and it's not up. You may want to manually 5 stack sunder armor at the start of the fight before you start spamming this, if that's the case, then you can remove an instance of devastate. This will keep your Shield Slam used, ensure sunder doesn't come off, and allow you to queue up Heroic Strike and Revenge almost all the time. You'll get an AoE benefit from thunderclap but it's mainly there to debuff the boss.

#show shield slam
/castsequence reset=shift/combat Devastate, Devastate, Shield Slam, Heroic Strike, Heroic Strike, Thunder Clap
/castrandom Revenge, Heroic Strike

AoE Warrior Tanking

This macro works really well for AoE pulls, I use it a lot in 5 man instances, there's enough threat in the castsequence to keep single target aggro and Cleave will almost always be queued. With glyph of cleave this makes for an exciting and easy way to AoE Tank. You're going to want to mix in Shockwave whenever it's appropriate.

#show shield slam
/castsequence reset=shift/combat Thunder Clap, Devastate, Shield Slam, Demoralizing Shout
/castrandom Cleave

These are the only two Warrior Tanking macros I use, mainly just to keep threat with minimal effort, you can manually weave better than any macro can nowadays after the patch changed the macro system, but these macros can be used when you don't feel like paying attention.
