The Nexus (71-73)

The Nexus is a level 71-73 instance in Wrath of the Lich King, Borean Tundra. It is found north of Coldarra flight path. There are 4 bosses in The Nexus, Grand Magus Telestra (left), Anomalus (deep in the instance), Ormorok the Tree-Shaper (right), and Keristrasza (at the entrance).

Quests

There are 3 quests chains that start in south eastern Coldarra (in the camp). Each quest chain ends with a quest sending you into The Nexus.

Bosses

Grand Magus Telestra

Grand Magus Telestra does a Firebomb that explodes around the target, have your ranged spread out to avoid damage. At 50% health she will summon 3 forms of herself, one casts Blizzrd and Ice Barb, another casts Scorch and Fire Blast and the third uses Time Stop and Critter (Polymorph). Direct damage towards the clone casting Blizzard or Critter as as are the most dangerous. The others can be controlled with Polymorph, traps, etc.

Ormorok the Tree-Shaper

Ormorok the Tree-Shaper uses Crystal Spikes which show up as a small ice spike for a second or so then expand causing damage to anyone near them. These are easy to avoid. Casters should watch out for Spell Refeclection and healers should be ready for 100% damage increase Enrage at 15%.

Anomalus

Anomalus will channel his energy into a summoned Chaotirc Rift, this occurs on a timer and the Rifts must be killed as quickly as possible since they get stronger and spawn more Chaotic Wraiths as Anomalus channels energy.

Keristrasza

Keristrasza uses Tail Sweep which attacks and knocks back targets behind him, she also uses a frontal cone attack called Crystalfire breath so melee DPS should line up on the sides of Keristrasza.

During this fight everyone must move a little to remove a Intense Cold debuff. The tank should use small straffs left and right to avoid major repositions of the boss and casters should step left and right between casts. Keristrasza will also use Crystal Chains which will immobolize a party member for up to 10 seconds, this should be cleansed or dispelled immediately.
