The Underbog Coilfang Reservoir Guide
This guide provides general instructions to the Coilfang Reservoir: The Underbog. A more detailed guide can be found HERE
The Underbog is a challenging level 63-65 instance found in the Coilfang Reservoir located in Zangarmarsh. It is 1 of 3 5-man instances located in the Coilfang Reservoir, it is the second most difficult level wise. Inside you will find giant slob monster type things along with crazy floating oddly colored fish birds (or something). The only reason I found this difficult was the patrols overlap a bit so you actually have to think about your pulls (unlike the Hellfire Citadel instances). Additionally, the majority of mobs are beasts which PUGs rarely are organized enough to use crowd control on. It can be easily cleared with a group of 5 63s.
Coilfang Reservoir: The Underbog is set in a semiaquatic themed reservoir with lots of purples and the likes. It has been compared to The Sunken Temple instance, however I was more reminded of Dire Maul's in regards to the mob choices. There are 4 bosses in The Underbog, Hungarfen, Ghaz'an, Swamplord Musel'ek and The Black Stalker.
Hungarfen
This giant beastlike slob monster hits relatively hard, has a lot of hp, and drops little mushroom friends you can play with. And by 'play with' I mean move the party away from because they grow larger and eventually release toxic pixels of death that do nature damage to you (also known as the evil Spore Cloud ability). Another fun part of Hungarfen is that he goes into an 'I'm going to root myself' mode, rooting himself and releasing an aoe that effectively drains life from everyone within 15 yards. Important: move away from him when he roots himself.
Ghaz'an
This guy is a giant dragon thing. Just have melee stay away from his tail and let the tank bring him across the bridge and put the tank's back into the wall. I've seen a Druid tank this boss, along with the others, with no problem while a Shaman healed him. These enounters couldn't get more trivial.
Swamplord Musel'ek
The Swamplord has a pet you'll want to have offtanked while you down him. Focus attention on Swamplord until he dies, then take out his pet. This is another simple fight.
The Black Stalker
Check this guy out. Blizzard dared to be creative with his model, he isn't an enlarged existing creature like most small instance bosses. Instead he is a dazzlingly colored obscurely shaped bug thing. Fear his wrath. To be honest I have no advice for beating this guy, if he did damage, I didn't feel it. If he had some crazy special attack, I didn't notice it. We just charged in and pwned that n00b.
