Utgarde Keep (70-72)

Utgarde keep is the first instance in Wrath of the Lich King, it's recommended for levels 70-72 and can be found in the Howling Fjord. Utgarde Keep is home of level 70-71 Vrykul Humanoids and has 3 bosses. The follow up to this instance is Utgarde Pinnacle at level 80.

There is one quest for each faction that leads to Utgarde, neither of them are part of a chain and can be shared before killing the final boss Ingvar the Plunderer.

Bosses

Prince Keleseth (93k hp)

The Prince will aggro immediately after his 4 Vrykul guards are slain. Twenty seconds through the fight Keleseth will release 4 Vrykul Skeletons which will likely run towards your healer. Your focus should stick to these adds as they can be easily dispatched using area of effect abilities.

Skarvald the Constructor (87k hp) and Dalronn the Controller (76k hp)

Skarvald will charge random party members but will come back to the tank. Dalronn will Shadow Bolt random members and needs to be picked back up by the tank. If one is killed before the other, the surviving boss will spawn a un-targetable spirit of the deceased boss which will do all the same attacks etc until both bosses are dead. For this reason, it may be easier to kill both of them at the same time.

Ingvar the Plunderer (115k hp)

Ingvar's adds will fly away once the fight begins. The tank must immediately pick him up and direct him away from the rest of the party. He has two frontal attack abilities which deal large amounts of damage. Keep him faced away from the party and be mindful of his castbar. If he begins to cast Smash, run at least 10 yards away from him. He will also cast a 6 second silence on players within 60 yards. When he dies he will be resurrected and the above abilities will be slightly amplified. Keep an eye out for when he tries to cast Dark Smash and run away from him like you did when he casts Smash.
