WotLK 1-450 Cooking Guide
Cooking is a great secondary profession to have for a character especially with the the release of WotLK new recipes that can greatly enhance a characters ability to get specific stats higher for leveling, grouping, or raiding.
Now you will need to either farm animal meat or fish in order to get your skill up or you can catch fish also to skill up. If you have the money feel free to buy what you need from the auction house. This guide will give a few options to level your fishing for certain skill levels so you have some options no matter how you decide to get the materials.
You will need to be able to make a cooking fire (found in your spellbook under the general tab) so you do not have to run back to a camp or city to do your combines.
Now find a cooking trainer/supplier to get started. Train as needed so you can keep progressing.

Cooking 350-450
Alliance can head to Valiance Keep and seek out Rollick Mackreel for thier new recipes. There are many routes that you can take from here as far as which recipe to make.
Horde can head to Howling Fjord and seek out Brom Brewmaster for thier new recipes. Once again there are many routes to take from here as to which recipe to make.
Okay now for the farming version and a way to make some GOLD:

The materials can be bought on the Auction House if you have the gold otherwise the final food can be sold on the Auction House too.
You will be making combines for green recipes during this area simply due to the cost of northern spices and the availability you will have to them. If you have the gold you can buy northern spices and go do any recipes you may have earned through Dalaran Daily Cooking Guide".
From this point on you will need to do Dalaran Cooking Dailies to gain Dalaran Cooking Awards in order to buy Northern Spices for the remaining recipes which also have to be bought with Dalaran Cooking Awards. From this point you can make alot of gold farming and making these new recipes or you can simply make a recipe that is for your characters.

Otherwise start making Great Feast, it will get you to 425 without any Northern Spices:

Make this recipe till 425 simply due to the fact that you do not have to waste northern spices getting to 425.

Getting your last 5 skill ups is extremely painful due to the fact that the recipes so it is best to make the following recipe:
