Where to Find Manticite Ore – Updated for Patch 5.0.1 – Mists of Pandaria

Manticite Ore is one of the three newest ores being introduced to World of Warcraft in the Mists of Pandaria Expansion.  It is the mid-level ore, with Ghost Iron Ore being the low level ore and Trillium Ore being the high level ore newest to the game.  Think of Manticite Ore as what Saronite Ore was to the Wrath of the Lich King expansion and Elementium Ore was to the Cataclysm expansion.

While there aren’t routes currently available for mining Manticite Ore, you’ll likely find it throughout the following zones, to varying extents:  Kun-Lai Summit, Townlong Steppes, Vale of Eternal Blossoms, and Dread Wastes.  Below is a map where you can see the general locations of these zones.  Once routes are available I will place detailed maps illustrating exactly where to go in each zone.

Prospecting Manticite Ore

From the current beta information, it looks like Jewelcrafters will be able to prospect Manticite Ore at a Jewelcrafting skill level of 550.  While this might change, just keep in mind where it’ll likely fall for prospecting since it is the mid-level ore being introduced.

Smelting Manticite Ore to Manticite Bar

While there isn’t much information about Manticite Ore and what recipes it will be used in for Blacksmiths, it will likely be turned into Manticite Bar by Blacksmiths and used in various recipes.
